Our mission is to provide help to companion animals by rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and spay/neuter, while creating a more compassionate and caring community for animals through education.
Many of us have been rescuing kitties for years, like many rescuers say, the kitties find us. Our mission brought many of us together and this brought on the idea for Cocoa Kitties. We love our community and have a great love for animals so naturally we decided to make a difference to the homeless pets in our area.
We have an amazing group of compassionate people who want to end feline overpopulation by spaying and neutering and finding a loving home for as many kitties as they can.
We are a foster based rescue located in and around the Hershey, PA area.
The kitties at Cocoa Kitties love TailTales, and we want to share this awesome product with you. This is a very small, family-owned business; these products are hand-made with love. The email link is below to order for your kitties.
The amazing SNAP program provides low cost spay/neuters for animals in Pennsylvania. Their mission is to eliminate pet overpopulation as a cause of death, suffering, abuse, neglect, and abandonment by providing safe, low cost spay/neuter alternatives for cats and dogs. This license plate helps fund their program.
We are a nonprofit and all-volunteer organization. We are overwhelmed with kitties at this time and have limited intake availability. Please please please help us make a dent in this over-population issue. Join us in our mission to create a better future for all of our companion animals.
Helpful hints before you send that email.
Contact your local township or borough office to see what they have for a solution, and if they don't have one, ask when they will and how they plan to handle this growing problem. The more people who ask, the better chance you have of getting your area to create a plan.
Injured kitties do take priority, but our financial ability does guide us on what we can do, so please don't assume we will always take injured kitties. Call your local Humane Society or SPCA for help. We are a small organization and rely on donations and they receive funding that we don't.
Please know that we spay all kitties that come into our care, even pregnant ones. Heartbreaking for you, us, the vets, and their staff, but a necessary evil because we already can't keep up with the numbers. If your pet is not spayed/neutered, you need to fix that issue. If you need suggestions on low-cost options, please check our resources page.
Yes, we will take the kitty back. Please have all vet records ready, make sure they are up to date on vaccines, and hopefully you still have their original adoption folder.
Cocoa Kitties operates in Derry Township, and we also partner with Derry Township Community Cats. Please contact Derry Township Community Cats for help with TNR, Feral kitties, or lost and found kitties. This is a township program, and they can only help within the township. 717-592-8087
